You Don't Have to Have It Together to Start
A Free Guide to Beginning CounselingIf you're reading this, you're probably tired. Tired of holding it all together, tired of pretending things are fine when they're not, or tired of carrying something you've never told anyone the full truth about.
We want you to know something before you read another word: you don't have to perform for us. Not the smiling version, not the "I'm fine" version, not the version you show everyone else. We want to meet the real you, even the messy, exhausted, unsure parts. That's not just allowed here. That's who we're here for.
Here's the truth: you don't have to stay stuck, and you don't have to figure out how to get unstuck on your own.
This Is a Safe Place to Finally Say It
Maybe there's something you've never said out loud. A thought, a memory, a fear, a failure, a question about your faith, a feeling you're ashamed of even having.
You are not the first person to sit across from us and say, "I've never told anyone this." We've heard the things people are most afraid to say, and we've watched relief wash over their face the moment they realized the floor didn't fall out from under them.
Whatever you've been carrying, you do not have to carry it alone anymore.
We Won't Just Listen. We'll Walk With You.
Maybe you've tried counseling before and it felt like talking into a void. An hour passed, you said a lot, someone nodded, and you left feeling the same as when you walked in.
That is not what this is. Yes, we listen, closely and without rushing you. But we don't stop there. From your very first session, we start helping you make sense of what's really going on underneath. And then, together, we start moving. Not because we're impatient with you, but because we believe you deserve more than just a place to vent. You deserve a path forward.
You will not be doing this alone. We are with you in it, every step.
What Your First Few Sessions Look Like
What You Might Feel Walking In (and Walking Out)
It's normal to feel nervous before a first session. Some people feel a flutter of anxiety in the car on the way over, or even think about canceling. That's okay. That feeling doesn't mean something is wrong with you. It means you're human, and you're about to do something brave.
What we hear most often after that first session is relief. Relief that someone finally heard the whole story. Relief that they weren't judged. Relief that there's a path forward, and they're not the only one walking it.
Faith, If and When You Want It
We are a faith-based practice, and for many of our clients, their relationship with God is part of their healing story. If that's true for you, we'll walk that out with you naturally, never forced. And if faith isn't where you're at right now, that's okay too. We'll meet you exactly where you are, no pretending required, and we'll still be glad you're here.
You've Already Taken the Hard Step
Reading this, thinking about reaching out, even just admitting something needs to change... that's the hard part. That's the part that takes courage. The next step is simply letting us walk the rest of it with you.
You've already taken the first step by reading this far.
